Voivod: The Nuclear Warrior is an upcoming metroidvania action-adventure from Chaosmonger Studio, inspired by the Canadian heavy metal band Voivod. Featuring pixel-art visuals, run-and-gun combat, and deep exploration, the game brings Voivod’s dystopian sci-fi universe to life.

You play as a warrior trapped in a surreal nightmare. His head is missing, and his disembodied mind, Nothingface, guides him. To escape, he must reclaim his fragmented consciousness while battling grotesque enemies inspired by the band’s iconic album artwork.

The band is deeply involved, with Michel Langevin (Away) handling visuals, Daniel Mongrain (Chewy) adapting music, Denis Bélanger (Snake) voicing the protagonist, and Dominic Laroche (Rocky) playtesting. The soundtrack will feature retro-style reworks of music, arranged by Yann Latour.

Developed by Nicola Piovesan and Chaosmonger Studio, the game is a passion project from a team, creating the animated video for Target Earth.
