Warhammer: Vermintide 2, the popular fantasy action game developed by Swedish studio Fatshark, has just received a significant update that’s breathing new life into the game. Introducing Versus Mode: Heroes vs. Pactsworn

Players can now engage in intense 4v4 battles, choosing to side with either the valiant Five Heroes or the formidable Pactsworn, composed of the game’s most challenging enemies like the Skaven (warrior rats) and Rotbloods (evil warriors from the first game’s storyline).
Each match in Versus Mode is divided into rounds. One team controls the Heroes, progressing through reimagined PvP maps and battling AI-controlled foes, while the opposing team takes on the role of the Pactsworn, using cunning and strategy to halt the Heroes’ advance. After each round, teams switch roles, ensuring everyone experiences both sides of the conflict.
Choosing characters with unique abilities
Versus Mode brings an exciting layer of depth to character selection. The Five Heroes come with three distinct careers, each offering unique abilities and playstyles. For the first time, players can also assume control of the Pactsworn units, each with their own skills and tactics, adding a fresh dynamic to the gameplay.
Players can earn Helmgart Sellsword Marks—points accumulated through playing Versus Mode—which can be used to purchase packs containing new emotes and poses for their Heroes. Some of these poses can even be selected as your final stance on the end screen when a Versus match concludes, adding a personal touch to your victories.
New maps and rewards
The game’s existing PvE maps have been redesigned for PvP battles, maintaining the thrilling and intense combat Vermintide 2 is known for, but with the added twist of facing off against real players controlling the enemies. As you delve into Versus Mode, you’ll unlock new challenges and exclusive rewards, making each match a fresh and rewarding experience.
Over 500,000 new players join the battle
