Ubisoft has reportedly cancelled a sequel to Star Wars: Outlaws before it even entered full production.
The rumour comes from Tom Henderson via Insider Gaming. On the site’s podcast, Henderson said Outlaws 2 was “very, very early” and never reached full development. Mike Straw, a senior editor, joked it was likely “seven years away” anyway.

Outlaws failed to deliver
Just days ago, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot blamed the game’s poor sales on the Star Wars brand. He said the IP was in “choppy waters” during launch.
The game launched in 2024 and flopped. Sales were weak. Reviews were mixed. Players were unhappy. The game saw major updates post-launch to fix complaints. Even the director admitted the critical response was disappointing.

The failure also caused a delay. Ubisoft pushed Assassin’s Creed Shadows out of 2024, moving it to March 2025.
Considering all that, it’s no surprise the sequel got dropped. Ubisoft has had little positive to say about Outlaws since launch.
