It’s not that long since the release of version 2.0 from Two Point Studios, for the exceptional (read my review!) Two Point Museum

Yet here we are with version 3.0 out and giving us more of that Two Point goodness!

The update, titled “MIA Exhibits & Items: Update 3.0,” introduces a wealth of new content, quality-of-life improvements, and optimisation, much of which has been directly inspired by player feedback.

The update, which went live on June 11, 2025, is described by the development team as “the picky bits before the main BBQ event,” hinting at more substantial content to come later in the summer.

For now, curators can enhance their museums with several new features designed to add depth and personalisation to their exhibits.

A standout addition is the new Memorial Exhibit system. Where players can commemorate staff members who go missing in action (MIA) during expeditions. Which happens more than I’d like to admit, to save on the bottom line…..

These memorials range from modest plaques to grand statues, with the item’s size and style determined by the lost staff member’s rank and role.

Each memorial is engraved with the staff member’s name, years of service, and the location of their final, fateful journey.

For the less sentimental curators, these items can also be sold.

Responding directly to community requests for more decorative options, the update adds 30 new posters for cafes and gift shops.

Players can now adorn their walls with six different themed poster variants for gift shops and six new cafeteria posters featuring beloved in-game brands like “Dinosaur Nuggets” and “Hog-Logs Cereal”.

Mix it up a bit

Significant gameplay changes have also been implemented.

An overhaul of the expedition randomisation system aims to reduce the need for players to repeatedly undertake the same expeditions to find missing exhibits.

This new, “smarter” system is being trialled on eight specific Points of Interest (POIs), including the Cold Mines and Downtown Wetlantis, with the goal of ensuring a more balanced distribution of items over time.

The studio plans to monitor player feedback before rolling out the change more widely into Two Point Museum.

One of the most heavily requested features (and a personal favourite) is workshop item batching. This is now implemented in Two Point Museum.

You can queue the creation of 1, 3, 5, or 10 identical items at once, streamlining the process of stocking up on essentials for expeditions.

Two Point Museum 3.0 doesn’t stop there, though.

Other key changes include:

  • Adjustments to staff XP and the introduction of six new Staff Traits.
  • Further enhancements to in-game security systems (remember this was a big focus in Two Point Museum 2.0)
  • Numerous bug fixes, optimisations, and other community-inspired quality-of-life tweaks

What’s next?

Two Point Museum is one of the most solid and polished games upon release that I can remember. Yet Two Point Museum persists in making it a better experience all around.

Reading the hints that indicate this may very well be the “picky bits” before we start on some main course BBQ food is super exciting.

I’d have said if the game was left in release state, it was still better than 99% of modern releases anyway. Any further updates are just a welcome addition.

If you haven’t played Two Point Museum just yet, there’s no better time to start, that’s for sure. As an old fan of Theme Park and Theme Hospital, Two Point Studios took that magic, modernised it and have now mastered what they do. Exceptional gameplay, quirky fun and some of the best games to spend your time with, no matter the weather.
