A new The Witcher 3 mod is turning Geralt into a full-time monster hunter. Created by Aeltoth, Wild Monster Hunt brings Monster Hunter-inspired gameplay to CD Projekt RED’s open-world RPG, complete with a huge new map about the size of Toussaint.
This isn’t a small tweak. It’s a full-blown alternate mode where players can start fresh or join existing saves to earn coin and gear through monster contracts. You’ll begin at a camp that can be upgraded, much like Corvo Bianco, but focused on prepping you for hunts instead of sipping wine.

Hunt, craft, survive in new Witcher 3
Each expedition sends you out to track beasts, collect loot, and use it to forge stronger gear through a special camp forge. There are even optional challenges, like Merciless Path, which turns the mode into a brutal extraction-style experience die, and you lose your equipment.
Players can access the Wild Monster Hunt area through a signpost east of White Orchard or by starting a new game from the menu. If that option crashes, Aeltoth recommends using the signpost method instead.

Meanwhile, CD Projekt RED has delayed its official cross-platform mod support to 2026, but with creations like this, The Witcher 3’s modding scene is clearly more alive than ever.
