The Rogue Prince of Persia is gearing up for its full release, with version 1.0 landing on Steam this August. After a few intense months in Early Access, Ubisoft and Evil Empire have confirmed the side-scrolling roguelite will finally step into the spotlight with a complete story, new biomes, and a proper ending.

Prince of Persia originally entered Early Access on 27 May 2024, and since then, it’s seen a steady stream of updates shaped by player feedback. In a new update shared during the PC Gaming Show, Evil Empire revealed that the final version will wrap up the story with a climactic third act, a true ending, and the long-awaited showdown with King Nogai.

“We’ll get all emotional on the day,” said the developers. “But for now, we’re just very, very grateful to everyone who supported us.”
Alongside the story’s conclusion, The Rogue Prince of Persia 1.0 will introduce a new biome alongside the Tower of Oblivion and Temple, plus a final biome leading to the last boss. You’ll also finally meet the Prince’s father, the King of Persia, as the narrative hits its peak. Expect new enemies, weapons, and other refinements to polish the rogue-like action even further.

A fresh update is also coming later this month, while more details, including a final release date and console plans, are promised soon.
If you’ve been holding out for the complete version, August 2025 is your moment. Until then, you can still dive into Early Access on PC via Steam for £16.75 ($19.99).
