The Relic: First Guardian just dropped a new gameplay trailer, and it’s shaping up to be an intense Soulslike adventure. Developed by Project Cloud Games and published by Perp Games, this dark fantasy RPG is set to release later this year on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox. Originally revealed as Project Relic at Gamescom 2021, the game was first introduced as a multiplayer experience. However, it has since shifted to a fully single-player adventure.

A fallen world and a last hope
Set in the ruined land of Arsiltus, The Relic: First Guardian follows the journey of the last Guardian. The once-thriving world has been consumed by a deadly void after the destruction of the Great Relic, and it’s up to players to gather its shattered pieces and close the rift before all is lost. Expect an apocalyptic fantasy setting, a semi-open world, and plenty of brutal encounters.
Combat and progression
Players will wield five different weapon types, each with unique abilities that can be customised to match their preferred combat style. Unlike traditional RPGs, The Relic: First Guardian ditches standard levelling in favour of a rune, item, and crafting-based progression system. Power comes from the loot you collect, the dungeons you conquer, and the bosses you defeat.
