Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog have released a new update for The Last of Us Part II Remastered. It adds a Chronological mode, letting players experience the full story in order.
The update is free and out now on PS5 (Patch 2.1.0) and PC (Patch 1.5 via Steam and Epic Games Store).

Chronological mode changes the flow
The original story jumps between past and present. This new mode puts everything in order. You’ll follow Ellie and Abby’s journeys from start to end without flashbacks.
Moments like Ellie getting her guitar now lead straight into her learning to play. You’ll see how Ellie and Abby’s paths cross. It gives a fresh view of how close they came to meeting and how their choices affected each other.

New unlockable skins
Finish The Last of Us Part II Remastered in Chronological mode and you’ll get rewards. Joel gets a Nathan Drake skin. Tommy gets a Sam Drake skin. Both can be used in No Return, the game’s roguelike survival mode.
It’s part of Naughty Dog’s 40th anniversary celebration. A fun nod to their Uncharted series.

Bug fixes and improvements
The update also fixes bugs and boosts performance. It’s a smoother experience for all players.
