The Game Awards 2025 has officially broken records. According to show organiser and host Geoff Keighley, this year’s event is the most-watched in the show’s history.
In a post shared on social media, Keighley confirmed that the 12th annual ceremony pulled in more than 171 million global livestreams. That is an 11% jump compared to the 151 million viewers recorded in 2024.
These numbers only count full livestreams across supported platforms. Clips, shorts, and highlights were not included. Viewership from Prime Video, which streamed the show for the first time this year, was also left out.
Big platforms, even bigger numbers for The Game Awards 2025
The show streamed across YouTube, Twitch, Steam, TikTok, Twitter, Kick, Facebook, and Instagram, alongside Prime Video. According to Streamcharts, via Variety, peak concurrent viewership hit 4.4 million, beating last year’s 4 million.
Co-streaming also saw a major boost. More than 23,000 creators hosted the show on YouTube and Twitch, marking a 50% increase year on year.
The strong performance was helped by several major reveals, including Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. On the awards side, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominated the night, winning nine awards and setting a new record in the process.

Love it or not, The Game Awards 2025 delivered massive numbers.
