PLAYISM and KOTAKE CREATE are bringing The Exit 8 to Switch 2 on August 29, right alongside the debut of its movie adaptation.

The popular anomaly-spotting walking sim, which has sold over 1.9 million copies, will get a fresh coat of polish and some extra scares.

The Exit 8 Underground Corridor

This version includes new anomalies, which will also be added to the original Switch and PC versions via a free update. PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, and Android players aren’t left out; they’ll get the update shortly after.

If you’ve not played it yet, The Exit 8 traps you in an endless Japanese-style underground passage. The only way out is to spot the anomalies. Miss one and keep walking. Catch one, turn back. That’s the loop. It’s simple, eerie, and strangely addictive.

Inspired by liminal spaces and the Backrooms vibe, the game quietly sparked a subgenre of its own. This update comes with improved resolution, better frame rate, and fresh mind-bending details to uncover.

With the film and this new version launching side-by-side, it’s the perfect time to step back into the tunnel. Check out the movie adaptation trailer below.
