It’s finally happening. After weeks of rumours and leaks, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is now official. Bethesda Softworks has confirmed the news through its social media pages, along with Microsoft, and announced a special online event that will take place on Tuesday, 22 April at 5:00 PM.
This event will focus only on the remastered version of Oblivion. Bethesda used the phrase “All will be revealed…” to create excitement, and they shared a short teaser video that clearly brings back the feel of the original game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, possible release right after the event
Many fans believe the game will be released right after the event. This is known as a “shadow drop,” where a game is suddenly made available without a long wait. If this happens, Oblivion Remastered will likely launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. It is also expected to be added to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day one, just like other games from Microsoft Gaming.
What’s new in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered?
Reports say that the remaster has been built using Unreal Engine 5, which means much better graphics than before. But that’s not the only improvement. The remaster is being handled by the Virtuos team, and they are said to have made many gameplay changes as well. These include a new and smoother combat system, new animations that make characters move better, a modern and easy-to-use interface, and a new progression system that changes how players level up.
Oblivion was first released in 2006 and is still loved by many fans. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered version is a chance to enjoy the same world again with modern visuals and updated gameplay. All eyes are now on Bethesda’s event tomorrow, where more details will be revealed.
