Moon Studios has dropped a major Early Access update for No Rest for the Wicked, and it’s a big one. The Breach is now live on Steam, bringing new areas, quests, weapon types, enemies, Hardcore Mode, and a ton of polish, all pushing the game closer to its full release on PC, PS5, and Xbox.
What’s new in The Breach update?
The world of Isola Sacra has nearly doubled in size with handcrafted zones like Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods. You’ll also discover two new settlements, Hunter’s Vale and Marin Village, plus dangerous cave systems and a nasty new Blight hazard to dodge.
Story-wise, the update adds 18 cinematic scenes and brand-new quests, deepening the main campaign. To access The Breach, you’ll need to complete the Prologue and early campaign missions like Sacrament and Spoken and Unspoken (step five).

Gear, combat, and Hardcore Mode
Combat gets a big boost with over 150 weapons now available, including new Gauntlets and Wands, along with all-new armour sets and a full Shield rework. Gameplay systems like Food & Hunger, Status Effects, and a new Plague System add extra depth and replayability.
If you’re after a real challenge, Hardcore Mode is now available with permadeath. One mistake, and it’s game over.

More bosses, better performance
Expect 9 new plague bosses, 2 enemy factions, and updated boss fights. Performance has also improved across the board with DLSS 4.0, faster load times, smoother physics, and hundreds of bug fixes.

Other upgrades include:
- Better tooltips and item previews
- Fast travel improvements
- Extensive rebalancing
- New music by Gareth Coker and fresh voice-overs

No Rest for the Wicked is in Early Access on PC (Steam). A full release is planned for PS5, Xbox, and PC.
