Steam Next Fest just got a whole lot more interesting.
Super Rare Originals has revealed that not one, not two, but three of its upcoming titles will be playable in demo form throughout this June’s Steam Next Fest, which kicks off on Monday, June 9 at 6PM BST and runs through June 16. Whether you’re in the mood for white-knuckle action, high-stakes tactics, or laid-back exploration, there’s something in this trio worth checking out.

Moros Protocol – Boomer-shooter meets roguelite chaos
Super Rare Originals start with Moros Protocol, which blends the nostalgic grit of early FPS games with the unpredictable chaos of roguelite design. With chunky low-poly visuals and a soundtrack that feels like it’s punching you in the face, this boomer-shooter throws you into a haunted sci-fi labyrinth packed with procedurally generated levels, towering bosses, and brutal weaponry.
The demo offers a slice of co-op action, two boss fights, and a solid chunk of the game’s arsenal – just enough to get annihilated in style.
Phantom Squad – Tactical shooters just got grittier
If you prefer planning over panic, Phantom Squad might be your jam. This top-down tactical shooter puts you in control of a squad that doesn’t answer to anyone but each other. Alone or with up to four players, you’ll plan and execute tight rescue missions, using a stripped-down arsenal to overcome dynamic enemy resistance.
The demo features the full tutorial and the first mission, laying the foundation for a gritty story of betrayal and redemption.
Gecko Gods – Small gecko, big vibes
Craving something quieter? Gecko Gods is the chill puzzle platformer you didn’t know you needed. You play as an adorable little gecko on a mission to save a friend, climbing every surface in sight, solving ancient puzzles, and devouring bugs on a stunning hand-crafted island.
This demo offers a slice of the opening island – enough to explore, relax, and get lost in its miniature mysteries.
Whether you’re dodging bullets in Moros Protocol, breaching doors in Phantom Squad, or munching flies in Gecko Gods, Super Rare Originals is bringing something fresh to Steam Next Fest this year.
