SteelSeries has unveiled its next-generation Rival 3 Gen 2 and Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 gaming mice, enhancing its popular Rival series with improved speed, precision, and durability, just in time for the brand’s upcoming 25th anniversary in 2026.
The Rival 3 Gen 2 series builds upon the success of the original Rival 3 released in 2013, keeping its focus on affordable performance while packing in updated features. The new wired version offers a fast click latency of just 1.35 ms and includes the TrueMove Core sensor with up to 8,500 DPI for better tracking accuracy. Designed to last, both models feature mechanical switches rated for up to 60 million clicks and 100% PTFE feet for smoother glide.

Weighing 77 grams for the wired version and between 95 to 106 grams for the wireless one, both models offer comfortable handling over long sessions. RGB lovers will also appreciate the 360° Prism underglow lighting that adds a touch of flair to any setup.
The Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 goes a step further by including the TrueMove Air sensor with up to 18,000 DPI and improved wireless performance. It uses SteelSeries’ Quantum 2.0 Dual Wireless tech, allowing users to connect via either a low-latency USB dongle or Bluetooth 5.0. Whether switching between gaming and work or connecting to multiple devices, this flexibility adds convenience without sacrificing speed. The click latency for the wireless model is just 1.9 ms.
Battery life has also been upgraded significantly. On 2.4 GHz, the wireless version lasts between 45 to 200 hours, and with Bluetooth, it can go up to 450 hours. It uses a single AAA battery and supports rechargeable options to reduce weight.
Adding a bit more personalisation, SteelSeries is offering these new mice in four colours: classic black, white, aqua, and lavender.

Both models are now available globally through SteelSeries.com and other retailers. The Rival 3 Gen 2 is priced at $34.99 USD, while the Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 comes in at $59.99 USD.
