Get ready, Troopers! The classic war against the Arachnid menace is about to get even more immersive. Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) and XR Games have teamed up to announce Starship Troopers: Continuum, a brand new VR experience arriving on Meta Quest 2 and 3 on October 17th and PlayStation VR2 on October 31st, 2024. Fans of the franchise can pre-order the game now on the Meta Horizon Store.
Step into the boots of Johnny Rico in VR
Featuring Starship Troopers veteran Casper Van Dien reprising his role as Johnny Rico, Starship Troopers: Continuum takes players 25 years beyond the infamous Battle of Klendathu. The war between the Federation and the Arachnid rages on, but on the planet Janus-4, a powerful secret known as “The Continuum” threatens to tip the scales.
In Continuum, you’ll be an experiment, known as a PsyCommander, equipped with advanced psychic abilities. Take control of Troopers, build them up, and lead them through fierce battles against an increasingly lethal enemy force.
Multiplayer bug-squashing action
The game features three-player squad-based combat, making team play essential for survival. With more than 20 different weapons to choose from and new bugs joining the classic lineup, players will need to aim well, reload fast, and strategise to stay alive. Boss battles against Tankers, Plasmas, and some nasty surprises are on the horizon, with epic missions set in both familiar and unexplored locations.

It’s a busy month for Starship Troopers fans, as Starship Troopers: Extermination, a 16-player co-op FPS, launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 11th, along with the game’s full launch on PC, moving out of early access.
