Bethesda Game Studios has finally confirmed it. Starfield is coming to PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026.

After weeks of rumours, the official date is now locked. And it is not just a simple port. The PS5 launch arrives with the “Free Lanes” update, which is said to be the game’s biggest update so far.

Alongside that, a new story DLC called Terran Armada is also on the way. You can check out its details here.

DualSense support and quality-of-life upgrades

Starfield PS5 will make proper use of the DualSense controller. Weapons will feel different through adaptive triggers, even during space fights. The light bar will also react to your health status.

There are small changes that should make a big difference. The touchpad adds quick controls for maps, scanning, and switching views. Surface maps are clearer now, making exploration less confusing.

The REV-8 land vehicle is also included, giving players more ways to move across planets.

This does not feel like a late port. It feels like a fresh push. Now it comes down to how well Starfield lands with PlayStation players.
