Splitgate developer’s new shooter is now officially in the works, and it looks like 1047 Games is aiming for something much faster and more aggressive this time. In a recent update, studio co-founder Ian Proulx confirmed that a small team is building a brand-new movement shooter inspired by Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
Proulx made it clear that Splitgate is still the main focus, but this side project shows the studio wants to grow beyond just one title. Early playtests are planned, and fans of fast movement shooters are already being invited to sign up.
A fresh shot after Splitgate struggles
The timing is interesting. The first game had a strong start but struggled to keep players. Its sequel, Splitgate 2, launched poorly and was later reworked into Arena Reloaded. Even after the relaunch, it never really found a big audience.
That said, the game still has a loyal player base, and 1047 Games hasn’t given up on it.

This new project could be the reset the studio needs. A proper movement shooter, done right, could bring back attention and maybe even put them back in the spotlight.
