Hazelight Studios is back with another co-op adventure, Split Fiction, launching on 6 March 2025. If you’ve played It Takes Two or A Way Out, you know the drill—two protagonists, two players, and a journey that demands teamwork. This time, you step into the shoes of Mio and Zoe, two unpublished authors trapped in a simulation of their own stories. To escape, they must navigate wildly different worlds inspired by their writing.

Meet Mio and Zoe
Mio Hudson is a no-nonsense sci-fi writer. She’s reserved, logical, and only in it for the money. Her stories feature neon-lit cyberpunk cities, high-tech weaponry, and space battles, all of which shape her in-game abilities. Expect her to wield energy swords, control drones with an exosuit, or dual-wield laser blasters.
Zoe Foster, on the other hand, is all about fantasy. She’s a lively optimist who dreams of proving herself. Her worlds are filled with trolls, enchanted forests, and dragons. In the game, she might shapeshift into a fairy, soar between floating islands, or charge into battle on a dragon.
These two couldn’t be more different, but to survive, they’ll need to work together—discovering hidden truths about themselves along the way.

Hazelight’s Friend’s Pass returns, letting one player invite a friend to play online for free. This time, crossplay is included, meaning you can team up across platforms.

Split Fiction lands on PS5, Xbox, and PC on 6 March 2025. Now, the big question—who’s playing Mio, and who’s playing Zoe?
