Space Chef is expanding its menu. Publisher Kwalee and developer BlueGooGames have announced that the quirky cooking-adventure game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2025, alongside the already-confirmed Switch and PC (Steam) versions. A free PC demo is live right now if you want to taste what’s cooking.
So, what is Space Chef exactly? It’s not just a cooking game—it’s part kitchen sim, part survival-lite RPG, part life sim, all served with a generous helping of humour in the weird and wild Horseshoe Nebula.
In Space Chef, you’re a chef trying to build the best space restaurant in the galaxy, and it all starts with foraging alien ingredients from strange worlds. From derelict space stations to jungle planets and even your shady basement, you’ll gather over 100 unique ingredients while dodging pirates and uncovering space secrets.
Back on your customisable space-trailer, you’ll use these ingredients to craft more than 140 dishes—like Beefle Skewers and the tricky Octoegg Surprise. Serve walk-ins or stick to delivery. It’s your kitchen, your call. And yes, you can shut down anytime if adventure calls.
Decorate your trailer however you like. Choose colours, add furniture, and create themed zones using over 150 decorations. Make it cosy or chaotic—it’s all up to you.
You’ll meet a cast of oddball locals across five alien planets—scrap dealers, ex-heroes, and maybe even someone to flirt with. They’ve got quests, backstories, and favourite meals you’ll need to learn. All while dealing with the shady fast food empire, Galactic Burger, which is moving in on your turf.
