South of Midnight is out now on Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, the Xbox App for PC, Steam, and the cloud—so however you play, you’re covered. Developed by Compulsion Games, this third-person action-adventure takes you into the heart of Southern folklore, where myths breathe and monsters lurk.

In South of Midnight, you play as Hazel, a Weaver—someone who mends broken bonds, spirits, and stories. After disaster hits her hometown, she’s thrown into a mystical version of the Deep South where eerie creatures and dark magic rule. Her journey? Untangle her family’s past, face the supernatural, and hopefully, find a place to call home.

The launch isn’t just digital either. To bring the legend to life, Xbox built a massive 40-foot recreation of Two-Toed Tom—a monstrous gator straight from the game. Set in the murky waters of Marrero, Louisiana, the gator includes a 20-foot cabin in its belly, kitted out with Xbox Series X consoles and four 42-inch screens. It’s part haunted house, part dream gaming den, and fully immersive.

Tom’s no ordinary beast. In the game, he’s the stuff of nightmares—twice the size of any real-world gator, with a backstory soaked in survival and rage. Once a mistreated pet, Tom chewed off his own toes to escape captivity. Since then, he’s grown unstoppable—eating livestock, destroying towns, and outliving every attempt to bring him down.

Now, in South of Midnight, he waits in the shadows for the waters to rise.

The game’s world is a rich, reimagined Deep South filled with cypress swamps, crumbling towns, and magic thick in the air. With gorgeous visuals, haunting sound design, and deeply woven storytelling, South of Midnight pulls you into a place where legends don’t fade—they get stronger.

So whether you’re diving in on Game Pass or meeting Tom in the Louisiana swamps, now’s the time. Midnight’s calling.
