Slay the Spire 2 is almost here. After missing its original 2025 target, MegaCrit has now locked in a firm date. The sequel arrives in Early Access on 5 March 2026.

The news came during Indie Fan Fest, alongside a fresh trailer. It mixes stylish animation with short gameplay clips.

Slay the Spire 2 – Early Access Trailer

Back in September 2025, MegaCrit teased fans with a “secret Thursday in March.” Now we know which one. At the time of writing, it is just two weeks away.

The Early Access build launches with five playable characters. Some faces return. Others are brand new. Expect new cards, new mechanics, new enemies, and fresh events.

There is also four-player co-op. That changes everything. Climbing the Spire alone is tough. Climbing it with friends could be chaotic in the best way.

MegaCrit says more content will roll out during Early Access. Cards, events, environments, and balance updates will shape the game over time. Players joining early will help guide that process.

Pre-orders are not live yet. For now, wishlisting is the only option.

Slay the Spire 2 was already one of 2026’s most anticipated indie titles. In two weeks, we finally see if it can climb higher than the original.
