So it’s official: Silent Hill is getting a full remake. And no, we’re not talking about its sequel again; this time it’s the original 1999 classic, and it’s being brought back by none other than Silent Hill 2 remake devs Bloober Team.

Silent Hill remake confirmed during Konami’s Press Start showcase

The announcement came straight from Konami during its Press Start broadcast, confirming the project is now in development. Details? Pretty much locked away in the mist for now. But the title’s confirmed – Silent Hill and the remake are very much happening.

This reveal comes after whispers and leaks, followed by a February confirmation that Bloober Team and Konami were working together on a game based on one of Konami’s IPs. Now we know exactly which one.

No platforms, no footage, and no release window just yet. But this remake has big boots to fill. The original game set the gold standard for psychological horror back on the PS1, with its gritty fog-covered town, twisted creature design, and that iconic radio static tension.

With Bloober Team already deep in Silent Hill 2, this move makes it clear: Konami is going all in on reviving the franchise. Let’s just hope this one captures the same atmosphere, dread, and emotional weight that made the original unforgettable.
