Section 13, the roguelite twin-stick shooter from Ocean Drive Studio and published by Kakao Games, is set to leave Early Access and officially launch in May. The game has been in Early Access on Steam since July 19, 2023, and will now be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC.

A chaotic, secret-filled shooter
In Section 13, you take on the role of an Agent working for the shady S2P Corporation, tasked with investigating a top-secret facility gone rogue. When an Omega-level containment breach locks down the site, it’s up to you and up to two teammates to descend into the depths, battle cryptids, and uncover the truth.
You’ll play as one of four Agents in Section 13: Red, Boy Scout, Beaker, or Scalpel, each with their own skills and backstory. The deeper you go, the more you’ll uncover about the corporation, the crisis, and your own past. But danger isn’t just from the monsters, you’ll also need to manage your Fear level to avoid panic attacks mid-mission.
Fast-paced action with evolving upgrades
Combat is all about quick reflexes, dodges, and reloads as you take on unpredictable enemies in ever-shifting levels. You’ll start each run with limited gear, but as you progress, you’ll find unlockable weapons, tactical abilities, and genetic modifications, each of which can drastically change how you play. Between runs, you’ll unlock permanent upgrades, improving your odds of survival on the next attempt.
For those who enjoy chaos, friendly fire is optional, making co-op a mix of teamwork and potential disaster. With no crossplay support, you’ll need to team up on the same platform.
The road to launch
With its mix of roguelite mechanics, intense gunplay, and paranormal mysteries, Section 13 has been evolving throughout Early Access. The full release promises even more refinements, balancing, and content to make every run feel fresh and rewarding.
