Fans of rhythm-based shooting games are in for a treat! Publisher Kwalee and developer Inzanity have announced that ROBOBEAT, the popular roguelike rhythm first-person shooter, will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch on 30 January 2025.

The game first arrived for PC players on 16 May 2024 via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

What to expect in the console version

ROBOBEAT on consoles will deliver the same high-energy gameplay that PC players have enjoyed. The console release will also include new features like the Infinite Locker mode and the powerful Nexus weapon, which were added to the PC version last month.

Players can groove to an impressive soundtrack with 38 original songs and bonus tracks from BPM: Bullets Per Minute, DUSK, and ULTRAKILL.

Beat, move, and conquer with custom music

In ROBOBEAT, players step into the boots of Ace, a skilled bounty hunter on a mission to capture the eccentric robot-showman, Frazzer. To succeed, you’ll need to master fast-paced actions like shooting, wall-running, sliding, and bunny-hopping—all in sync with the beat of the music!

The game rewards precision. Shooting to the rhythm boosts damage and reduces cooldown times, so keeping time is key to staying alive.

A standout feature is the ability to shoot to your own beat! Using the custom music feature, players can upload tracks in .wav, .mp3, or .ogg formats and let the in-game editor generate beats. You can switch songs without interrupting gameplay, making it a highly personalised experience.

Fluid moves and endless replayability

ROBOBEAT combines rhythm with movement. Players can wall-run, double-jump, grapple, and slide through colourful, procedurally generated levels. Each run is different, with new weapons, songs, and upgrades to discover.

Will you have the skill and rhythm to break free from the infinite loop and stop Frazzer?
