Resident Evil Requiem is already a massive hit for Capcom, and the developers are not done with it yet. After a strong launch, the team has confirmed that more content is on the way, including a full story expansion.

Director Koshi Nakanishi recently shared an update celebrating the game’s early success. Since launching on February 27, 2026, Resident Evil Requiem has already sold over five million copies. That makes it the fastest-selling entry in the long-running survival horror series.

Alongside the sales milestone, Nakanishi confirmed that several updates are currently in development. A photo mode will be added soon, giving players a chance to capture moments from the game’s eerie world.

The team is also preparing a new mini-game, and a surprise announcement is planned for May 2026. Details about that reveal are still being kept under wraps.

The biggest news, however, is the upcoming story expansion. According to Nakanishi, the new content will explore the world of Resident Evil Requiem in more detail. There is no release date yet, as the director noted that it will take some time to complete.
