Ubisoft has officially announced Rainbow Six Siege X, confirming the rumours from earlier this month. The reveal happened during the Six Invitational eSports tournament, with a full showcase set for March 13 at 10 AM PT / 7 PM CET. You can catch it live on the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch channel or attend in person in Atlanta, Georgia.
For now, Ubisoft has teased graphics and audio enhancements, deeper tactical gameplay, and new ways to play. A brief video teaser is available, but we’ll have to wait for the showcase for full details.

Year 10 kicks off with Operation Prep Phase
Meanwhile, Rainbow Six Siege’s live service isn’t slowing down. Year 10, Season 1—Operation Prep Phase—launches soon, bringing a new Attacker, Rauora, straight from New Zealand. She’ll be available with the Battle Pass at launch and unlockable with Renown or R6 Credits two weeks later.
Rauora has a 417 sniper rifle or an M249 light machine gun as primary weapons. For secondaries, she gets the GSH-18 pistol or the new Reaper MK2 submachine gun, which comes with a red dot sight and an extended mag for close-quarters combat. She also carries smoke grenades or breach charges.
Rauora’s unique gadget: Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M.)
Her standout ability is the D.O.M. Launcher, a bulletproof smart cover system designed for doorways. When she fires the gadget at a door, it deploys a full-length bulletproof panel. Unlike standard barricades, this panel has a smart sensor that detects drones and temporarily lifts to let them through before sealing again.

The D.O.M. panel is interactive, meaning both Attackers and Defenders can open or close it. However, Attackers have the edge:
- Defenders are temporarily locked out when the panel is first deployed or just closed.
- Attackers can trigger the door to open faster than Defenders.
These advantages let Attackers control the pace of engagements, blocking sightlines, securing entry points, and forcing Defenders into uncomfortable positions. Rauora pairs well with Ying or Fuze to maximise pressure on enemies.
You can try Operation Prep Phase next week, with a full release scheduled for next month.
As for Rainbow Six Siege X, there’s no release date yet, but the original leak suggested it will launch alongside Year 10’s second season. We’ll likely know more after the March 13 showcase.
