We’re somehow at PUBG update 33.1! Still one of my most-played games, something I dive into most weeks, even just for a quick drop. And now we’re quite far past v.1.

There’s quite a lot going on with this one. So I’ve taken the press release and trimmed it down a bit for you to get a taste of what’s to come.

PUBG Update 33.1 - Sanhok

Update 33.1

Get ready to dive back into the battlegrounds, PUBG players! Update 33.1 is dropping soon with a massive overhaul of Sanhok, weapon rebalances, exciting new features, and a whole lot more.

Here’s the PUBG Update 33.1 lowdown:

Sanhok gets a destructive makeover

The biggest news in this update is the complete transformation of Sanhok. Prepare for full destructibility across the map! Buildings, structures, and even some trees can now be obliterated with explosives like Frag Grenades, Mortars, Panzerfausts, and C4. This brings a whole new level of dynamic gameplay to Sanhok, forcing players to adapt and think on their feet.

But that’s not all! PUBG update 33.1 also brings:

  • Visual Enhancements: Redesigned rice fields, revamped river areas, and improved building visuals breathe new life into Sanhok.
  • Spawn Rate Changes: Sticky Bombs have been added, Frag Grenades and Panzerfausts are more common, and certain vehicles and weapons have been adjusted to better suit the new destructible environment.
  • Red Zone From Phase 1: The Red Zone now starts from the first phase and can also destroy terrain and structures, adding another layer of chaos to the early game.

SMGs get a boost

SMGs (excluding the P90, MP9, and JS9) have received a significant accuracy buff in PUBG Update 33.1, making them more viable in close-quarters combat. Hip-fire, over-the-shoulder, and movement accuracy have all been improved, and 9mm ammo weight has been reduced for easier inventory management.

Gameplay and quality of life improvements

PUBG Update 33.1 focuses on some nice QoL improvements, too. I’m really impressed with the matchmaking changes, for sure. Also, the Red Zone being more frequent but more predictable is a boon, for sure.

  • Red Zone Rebalanced: The dreaded Red Zone has been adjusted to be less punishing and more predictable, with reduced damage and a new explosion mechanism.
  • Inspect Weapon Animations: Show off your weapon skins with new inspect animations, now visible to other players.
  • Same Language Team (PC): A new matchmaking option allows you to team up with players who speak the same language, improving communication and teamwork.
  • Revamped Team Finder (PC): Find teammates faster with the streamlined Team Finder, automatically forming teams based on language, server, and mode preferences.
  • Win Streak Showdown Improvements: Win Streak Showdown is now available in Solo mode with adjusted win streak requirements and rewards.

And there’s more!

Another season means another survivor pass, so you can expect more gear, more poses and changes to what you can craft.

  • Ranked Season 33: Climb the ladder and earn exclusive FAMAS weapon skins.
  • New Survivor Pass: Let It Snow: Gear up for the holidays with a brand new Survivor Pass.
  • New Lobby Poses: Strike a pose in the lobby with customizable poses that reflect your style.
  • Workshop and Customization Updates: New item sets, craft-able costumes, and UI improvements are coming to the Workshop and Customization menus.
  • Bug Fixes: Numerous bug fixes address gameplay issues, world glitches, and visual inconsistencies.

Don’t miss out on all the action! PUBG Update 33.1 is bringing a ton of fresh content and exciting changes to PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. Mark your calendars for the maintenance periods and get ready to drop into a revamped Sanhok.
