Phison, a company known for making advanced storage solutions, has introduced a groundbreaking SSD, the Pascari D205V. This new SSD is designed for data centres and brings an impressive storage capacity of 128 TB, doubling the size of current high-end SSDs with 60 TB storage.
Twice the storage, faster speeds
The Pascari D205V is a PCIe Gen5 SSD, offering lightning-fast speeds. It can reach sequential read speeds of 14,600 MB/s and write speeds of 3,200 MB/s, making it ideal for handling demanding applications like artificial intelligence, research, and entertainment.
For random tasks, the SSD delivers up to 3 million IOPS for 4K reads and 35,000 IOPS for 16K writes. This means faster and more efficient performance in handling large amounts of data.
Compact design saves space
Phison highlights that the D205V will help data centres save space by offering more storage capacity in the same area. This can also reduce operating costs for data centres.
With such a high capacity, data centres can upgrade their systems significantly. For example:
- A single 24-unit server base can hold 2.2 petabytes of storage.
- Larger setups with 12 server bases can increase storage by 707 petabytes.
Built for durability
The Pascari D205V is made to last. It has a durability rating of 2.5 million hours, matching other high-performance SSDs in the market. The SSD comes in U.2 and E3.L form factors, making it compatible with modern server designs.
It also includes security features through NVMe 2.0 and other advanced protections like ISE and TCG Opal.
Availability
The Phison Pascari D205V SSD will be available in Q2 2025. With its massive storage capacity and reliable performance, it is set to transform how data centres store and manage information.
