A new hunt begins in Path of Exile 2 on April 4 at 12 PM PT, bringing fresh carnage with Dawn of the Hunt. This expansion introduces the Huntress, five new Ascendancy classes, over 100 unique items, new skills, and major endgame reworks.
Enter the hunt with the new Huntress class
The Huntress is a fast, relentless warrior, using spears for both melee and ranged combat. She thrives on movement, weaving in and out of fights with spear throws and devastating close-range attacks. With her Parry ability, she can stun enemies and counter with moves like Disengage, which grants Frenzy charges before unleashing a powerful spear throw. Her skill set features long combo chains, making her one of the most dynamic classes to date.

New Ascendancy classes expand and build diversity
Dawn of the Hunt introduces five Ascendancy classes:
- Ritualist (Huntress): Wields blood magic and plague, sacrificing health for power.
- Amazon (Huntress): A precision-focused warrior using elemental attacks.
- Lich (Witch): Embraces undeath and chaos, sacrificing life for energy.
- Smith of Kitava (Warrior): Forges weapons of destruction, embodying raw power.
- Tactician (Mercenary): A battlefield strategist with elite military training.

Master new skills and support gems
In Dawn of the Hunt, alongside 20 spear skills, two highly anticipated abilities are arriving:
- Raise Spectre: Summon souls of almost any defeated monster, opening endless build possibilities.
- Summon Rhoa Mount: Ride a Rhoa into battle for high-speed attacks. Take too much damage, though, and you’ll be thrown off.
Dawn of the Hunt also adds over 100 new Support Gems, transforming how skills work. Haemocrystals cause Bleed effects to explode as Vaal crystals, while Caltrops slow enemies by scattering hazards on the battlefield.

Endgame gets deadlier with new challenges
The expansion brings 8 new Maps, featuring encounters like The Fractured Lake, where reality warps with mirrored enemies, and The Phaaryl Megaliths, where rune stones surge with dangerous energy.
Rogue Exiles now fight smarter, dodging attacks and using player abilities against you. Defeating them means claiming their powerful loot. Meanwhile, Corruption Nexuses spawn terrifying bosses—defeat them to cleanse areas, unlocking new monsters, rewards, and modifiers.

New crafting tools and unique items
Crafting has been expanded with 20+ new Runes, scaling with multiple tiers to stay relevant in the endgame. Unique Strongboxes now offer high-risk, high-reward battles, including Ogham’s Legacy, where a slain creature revives stronger after each defeat, and Ixchel’s Torment, which unleashes Vaal-infused guardians.

Dawn of the Hunt launch details
Dawn of the Hunt launches April 4 across PC, Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. A fresh economy league is recommended to fully experience the update. Now the question remains: will you rise to become a hunter, or will you fall and become prey?
