Independent studio Misty Whale has announced that Orbyss will officially launch on 27th October 2025 for PC via Steam. Following a successful demo and glowing early impressions, this surreal logic puzzler invites players to explore a world where light and geometry intertwine, and where every solution reveals something deeper about balance, order, and transformation.
Accompanying the release date reveal is a new gameplay trailer, offering a glimpse at the game’s intricate later chapters – where puzzles expand from simple light manipulation to complex sequences involving drone navigation, sound-based problem-solving, and time-freezing mechanics.
Created by solo developer Yannick Audéoud, Orbyss is built on the idea of pure logic within a living, organic world. “I wanted to create puzzles with strict rules and an almost mathematical aspect,” says Audéoud. “The universe was built around this idea of balance – blending geometry with bioluminescent life forms and sound-based gameplay.”

Each of the game’s eight chapters introduces a fresh mechanic, challenging players to think several steps ahead across more than 40 handcrafted rooms. Switching between glowing Orbs, players must activate devices, manipulate environments, and maintain harmony in a digital realm threatened by creeping corruption.
The game’s ethereal atmosphere is supported by an original score from Pierre Estève (best known for his work on the Atlantis series). Using vintage synths, rare instruments, and bespoke machines, Estève’s ambient compositions create a soundscape that enhances the meditative, almost hypnotic quality of the puzzles.
