Capcom is reviving Onimusha in a big way. At Gamescom 2025, the publisher showcased a playable demo, giving fans a 12-minute look at the action.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword gameplay demo
The footage wastes no time. It’s all steel clashes, bloody strikes, and a corrupted Edo-era Kyoto crawling with danger. The world is wrapped in Malice, a dark force twisting the land and spawning the Genma – ghastly monsters ripped straight from the underworld.
Players step into the boots of a lone samurai armed with the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical weapon that unlocks devastating powers.
Capcom is targeting a 2026 release, with PC confirmed via Steam. No system requirements are yet available, and Denuvo isn’t listed for now. Expect those details closer to pre-orders.
