A few months back, OneXPlayer dropped jaws with the X1 Pro, one of the first handhelds to sport AMD’s 12-core Ryzen AI HX 370 ‘Strix Point’ APU. It came loaded with a 10.95-inch 120Hz display (2560×1600 resolution), up to 64GB of RAM, and a monstrous 4TB of storage. Now, the company’s back with a limited-edition model – the X1 Pro EVA edition – and this one comes powered by Intel’s shiny new Core Ultra 7 255H.

Key features of the X1 Pro EVA edition

X1 Pro EVA edition got a slick Neon Genesis Evangelion-themed design that’ll definitely turn heads, but under the hood, the big shift is from AMD to Intel’s Arrow Lake-H platform. The EVA edition packs a 16-core Core Ultra 7 255H, paired with 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. Unlike the AMD version, there are no cheaper SKUs – this one is strictly high-end, and it carries a price to match: $1650.

Performance-wise, the Intel and AMD versions of the X1 Pro are pretty close. The Ryzen AI HX 370 leads in multicore workloads, while the Core Ultra 7 edges ahead in single-core tasks. GPU comparisons are also tight. Intel’s Arc 140T looks faster than AMD’s Radeon 890M in benchmarks, but real-world gaming tells a more balanced story. Titles like GTA V favour AMD, while Strange Brigade leans Intel’s way. It really depends on what you’re playing.

The EVA edition doesn’t mess with the rest of the formula. It still has the same port selection – dual USB-C, USB 3.2, microSD, OCuLink, and a headphone jack. And yes, there’s an optional keyboard that turns this handheld into a portable productivity beast.

For fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion or those looking for a slick design with solid performance, the EVA edition is a compelling – albeit pricey – choice. The AMD and Intel models might trade punches in different areas, but either way, you’re getting a top-tier handheld that doesn’t compromise.
