Norse: Oath of Blood – Developer diary and release date trailer
The game throws you into Viking-Age Norway as Gunnar, a young warrior pushed into exile after his father, Jarl Gripr, is killed by the ruthless Steinarr Far-Spear. With his home destroyed and his people scattered, the story follows Gunnar’s slow climb back to power as he rebuilds his settlement, gathers allies, and prepares his warband for the long road to vengeance.

Combat leans heavily into tactical thinking. Every fight rewards planning. Positioning matters. Elevation and terrain matter. Even hazards on the field can turn the tide. Each warrior comes with unique skills, and the gear you choose shapes how they perform, making every move feel deliberate.
Outside of battle, the settlement becomes the heart of your journey. You start small, but each upgrade pushes your village closer to becoming a true stronghold. Managing resources, crafting gear, and expanding your buildings all feed back into your strength on the battlefield.

The entire story is written by bestselling author Giles Kristian, giving the game a grounded and human edge. Your decisions guide Gunnar’s fate and decide whether he rises as a true Jarl or falls before the man who shattered his home.
