After years of development, SCREEN JUICE has finally announced that their stylish character action roguelite, Morbid Metal, will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam this summer. And yes, there’s a brand new gameplay trailer to prove it.
The project started as a solo dev passion project, slowly evolving into a small, dedicated team of creators. In their announcement, SCREEN JUICE shared a heartfelt message:
“It’s been many years since the development of Morbid Metal started and I posted the first bits and pieces online. Now we are a small team of passionate developers working on it and we are so proud to finally be able to say it is coming this summer!”

At its core, Morbid Metal is a fast-paced, roguelite action game that lets you shapeshift between four playable characters in real-time. Each one brings their unique moves, active abilities, and over-the-top special skills to the fight. You can string together combos by rapidly switching between them—so if you like stylish hack-and-slash combat, this one’s probably already on your radar.
The environments range from gritty futuristic wastelands to lush ruins overtaken by nature, all set in a mysterious world that’s slowly revealed with each run. And just like any proper roguelite, death is permanent—die, and you start from scratch. But with every run, you unlock more upgrades and grow stronger. It’s that sweet “fight, upgrade, die, repeat” rhythm that keeps you hooked.
