Monster Hunter Wilds fans have something exciting to look forward to as Capcom announced a second open beta test for the game. The beta will run in two sessions: from February 6th to 9th and February 13th to 16th. This comes just weeks before the game’s full release on February 28th.
Players will get a chance to hunt the returning monster Gypceros, a fan favourite from earlier titles in the series. The second beta will also include all the content from the first test, such as character creation, the story trial, and the quest to slay Doshaguma. For those who participated in the first beta, character creation data will carry over to this test and can even be transferred to the full game when it launches. However, progress made during the beta will not carry over to the main game.
Participants in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta will receive special bonuses that can be redeemed in the full game. These include a decorative charm for your weapon or Seikret and an item pack to help kickstart your hunting journey.
Ryozo Tsujimoto, producer of Monster Hunter Wilds, shared that Capcom is actively working on improving the game based on feedback from the first beta. However, these changes won’t be included in the second test. Fans can expect these improvements to be reflected in the final release.
As the successor to Monster Hunter World, which became Capcom’s best-selling game with over 21 million copies sold (27 million including the Iceborne expansion), Monster Hunter Wilds has big expectations to meet. Early previews suggest it continues to refine the series’ formula, delivering a polished and engaging experience.
The beta will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, giving players another chance to dive into the action before the game’s official release.
