UnderMine, the action-adventure roguelike brimming with secrets from developer Thorium Entertainment, begins its dangerous quest today on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility.
UnderMine Trailer:
Enjoyed by more than 600,000 brave adventurers on Steam, Xbox Game Pass, and Nintendo witch, UnderMine delivers a roguelike experience inspired by the genre’s most beloved titles combined with crisp, detailed pixel art. Enter the titular UnderMine as a worker tasked by the uncaring Overseer with uncovering the source of the mine’s tremors.
Starting with only a throwable pickaxe and a single bomb, collect gold before slimy Pilfers swipe it, collect keys to open treasure chests full of useful items, and uncover power-granting relics. Blow up walls to find secret paths with more loot and even potential allies to help future runs in exchange for that precious gold.
Buy permanent upgrades that make the miner hit harder, survive longer, and cause more powerful explosions. But with shops providing game-changing items for each run and only some money making its way back to the surface upon the peasant’s death, spend that gold wisely.
Reaching the bottom of the mine is not the end, for the truly brave who demand even more challenge can conquer the Othermine. Say goodbye to those hard-earned upgrades, and start each run with a random assortment of relics, upgrades, and curses. And if that’s not enough, prepare for even more challenge, with new content in development for all versions.
It’s been a wild six years since I first founded Thorium Entertainment and started the first work on UnderMine, and now the game’s finally available on all the major platforms. This isn’t the end of the story whatsoever, as we plan to keep building on UnderMine and making the game bigger and better.
Derek Johnson, Founder, Thorium Entertainment.
UnderMine is available now on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility for $19.99. UnderMine supports English, French, German, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian language text.
