MindsEye updates slow down, Agent 47 crossover delayed as Build A Rocket Boy struggles

Build A Rocket Boy has confirmed that MindsEye updates will slow down. The Hitman crossover? Delayed with no new release date.

The Agent 47 mission was meant to arrive in July. That’s no longer happening. The studio posted a short update on X, apologising for the delay. It gave no timeline, just a vague “later date”.

That’s a blow. The Hitman content was the only new addition announced post-launch. Now, fans are left waiting again.

Fewer updates on the way

Worse still, future patches may come slowly. Build A Rocket Boy warned that updates “may be less frequent”. This likely follows recent layoffs.

MindsEye has had a rough ride from day one. It’s the lowest-rated game of 2025 on Metacritic. Players demanded refunds. The launch build was broken.

The studio has pushed out multiple patches. Performance has improved. However, the game’s core, its gameplay, and story, still don’t connect with players.

A rough road since day one

Even before launch, red flags were everywhere. Early builds leaked. Previews were negative. Executives left. One co-CEO blamed “saboteurs” for the game’s failure.

Since release, things haven’t improved much. Layoffs hit the team. Updates tried to fix issues. However, fixing bugs is easier than repairing one’s reputation.

People compare this to Cyberpunk 2077. But CD Projekt RED had time, money, and a solid world underneath the mess. Build A Rocket Boy doesn’t.

This is a young studio, built on Leslie Benzies’ name. Its funding isn’t endless. Its second chance may never come.

With the Hitman crossover on hold and patches slowing down, MindsEye feels stuck. The game needs a comeback, but time is running out.
