Microsoft is set to release a new mini PC, called Windows 365 Link, aimed at businesses. This small computer is designed to run Windows 11 directly from the cloud. Priced at $349, it is smaller than popular devices like the Mac mini, measuring just 120 x 120 x 30 mm.

Compact design and features

The Windows 365 Link Mini PC has a fanless design to keep it cool and does not have local storage, which makes it so compact. Despite its small size, it offers several connection options:

  • One USB-C port
  • Two USB-A ports
  • HDMI and DisplayPort for connecting to monitors
  • Ethernet connection for wired internet
It also supports two 4K monitors and comes with Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E for wireless connectivity.

While Microsoft has not shared exact hardware details yet, the mini PC is focused on delivering reliable performance through its cloud features.

To use this device, businesses must have a Windows 365 subscription along with Microsoft Intune and Entra ID. It supports different Windows 365 plans, including Frontline, Enterprise, and Business editions.

It has also added built-in security features to keep the device safe:

  • Secure Boot
  • Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
  • BitLocker encryption
  • Microsoft Defender for detecting threats

These features are locked, meaning they cannot be turned off to ensure better security.
