Mexican Ninja, master the way of the donkey in Madbricks’ beat-’em-up roguelike

Amber Studio has unleashed the first demo for Mexican Ninja, a brash, stylish 2.5D beat ’em up roguelike from Madbricks that drops players into the chaotic streets of Nuevo Tokyo, a neon-soaked collision of Mexican grit and Japanese cyberpunk. Here, Narcos and Yakuzas have fused into the ruthless Narkuzas, and it’s up to you to kick off the uprising.

Built with pick-up-and-play action in mind, Mexican Ninja rewards more than just button-mashing. Its “en chinga” combat focuses on timing, spacing, and mastery – where a well-placed strike or clever build can turn a fight into something resembling ballet. With randomised runs, Spirit Animal paths, and the swagger-soaked “Way of the Donkey” skill tree, every attempt feels loud, stylish, and gloriously unpredictable.

Creative Director Dario Hoyo describes it as “Mexico meeting Japan – lucha bravado, bilingual slang, and irreverence colliding with feudal drama and Yakuza steel.” The game leans as much into its comedy as its combat, with fast duels, trash-talking enemies, and over-the-top Mexican Jutsus that make every encounter pop with personality.

The demo starts players right at the spark of rebellion, offering quickfire encounters, blood-splattered flair, and just enough story to set the stage for the fight against the Narkuzas.

Mexican Ninja key features

  • Fast-paced 3D beat ’em up combat with retro arcade roots.
  • Roguelike chaos with randomised runs and trash-talking duels.
  • Spirit Animal skill trees to shape your playstyle.
  • The swagger-first “Way of the Donkey” skill tree.
  • Mexican Jutsus – powerful, crowd-controlling abilities with plenty of flair.

Mexican Ninja is coming to PC via Steam in Spring 2026, but you can download the demo now and get a taste of the uprising.
