A brand-new studio made by veteran developers has just announced LORT, a fantasy roguelite co-op action game that looks like pure chaos in the best way possible. Developed by Big Distraction, LORT is coming to PC via Steam in Q4 2025, and it’s built around one clear idea—fun with your friends without the stress.

The team behind it says they’re tired of how the AAA space keeps letting down both players and devs. So they’ve gone back to what matters: games that feel good, perform well, and are straight-up fun to play. LORT is their debut title, and it’s aiming to hit hard with eight-player PvE madness, an ocean of power-ups, and a fantasy world full of weird, cursed nonsense.

LORT – Game bio

Think Deep Rock Galactic meets Hades, then throw in eight friends, a horn that rallies the squad, and a pair of enchanted gym shorts, and you’re somewhere close to what LORT is doing. It’s a one-to-eight player cooperative roguelite action game where everything escalates fast. From goblin-poking beginnings to full-on god-slaying carnage, it’s all about picking your weapons, stacking absurd power-ups, and surviving the madness together.

Whether you’re sword-swinging, wand-blasting, or just showing up with a gun (because, of course, that’s allowed), the combat is built around flexibility and pure fun. You’re not stuck with one playstyle—you can switch weapons on the fly and experiment with wild combinations.

Key features that stand out

Massive chaotic co-op – You can play solo or bring up to seven friends into the fray. It’s built around PvE chaos that starts light and quickly gets out of hand. The horn-blowing system (yes, you rally your friends by literally blowing a tooter) is a standout touch that feels perfect for meme-filled runs.

Pick your poison – Swords, wands, bows, or just plain guns—it’s all up to you. Find combos that break the game and laugh while you do it.

100+ power-ups – From Boomer’s Blessing to Cool Comfy Shorts, the game is loaded with power-ups that change how you play. It’s all about mixing, matching, and stacking them until your character feels like a walking catastrophe.

Big, weird bosses – The bosses aren’t just tough, they’re full of personality. Expect fights that require strategy, teamwork, and some serious dodging.

God Run mode – When the stars align and you get the perfect set of upgrades, the game becomes something else entirely. This is the “you broke the game” moment, and the devs want you to feel unstoppable. LORT doesn’t punish you for getting too powerful, it rewards you with chaos.

Custom chaos – You can build your own “stew of power” by picking quests, enemies, and environments. It adds variety and gives you control over how wild each run gets.

LORT is coming to PC via Steam in Q4 2025. No word yet on console versions, but given how scalable and co-op-friendly it sounds, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it expand later.
