Little Witch in the Woods was supposed to leave Early Access on 4 September, but developer SUNNY SIDE UP has officially delayed the full release to 15 September. The reason is Hollow Knight: Silksong.

In a statement, the team said they didn’t want their witch life sim overshadowed by one of the most anticipated games of the decade. The studio even admitted they look up to Silksong “with awe” as both developers and players.

The Early Access version of Little Witch in the Woods has been live on Steam for some time, and fans have been waiting years for the full launch. SUNNY SIDE UP explained that delaying was a difficult call, but one made to avoid crushing their own efforts and to ensure players give the game the attention it deserves.

This isn’t an isolated case. CloverPit, Aeterna Lucis, Demonschool, and Baby Steps have all recently shifted their release dates to avoid clashing with Silksong. The hype is so big that studios across genres are moving out of the way.

The witchy life sim will now finally arrive on 15 September 2025 for PC via Steam, with the devs promising a polished, finished experience when it lands.
