Sony and Tencent have quietly ended their long-running legal battle over a Horizon clone, with Light of Motiram now removed from major digital stores.
The lawsuit, which began in August 2025, accused Light of Motiram of copying key ideas, visuals, and themes from Sony’s Horizon series. After months of court filings, delays, and sharp public statements, both companies have agreed to settle the case out of court.
According to a report by The Game Post, a new court filing confirms that Sony and Tencent jointly asked for the case to be dismissed. The lawsuit has been closed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. All pending motions were withdrawn, and both sides will cover their own legal costs. The settlement itself remains confidential.

Light of Motiram quietly removed following confidential settlement
While the exact terms are unknown, one outcome is already clear. Light of Motiram has been delisted from all major storefronts. This strongly suggests its removal was part of the agreement.
Before the settlement, the case was heated. Sony labelled the game a “blatant knockoff,” while Tencent pushed back, arguing that popularity does not equal ownership. Tencent had recently agreed to pause promotion, public testing, and any early release plans.

For now, the future of Light of Motiram is uncertain. What is clear is that this chapter is officially closed.
