La Quimera is back, and it’s hitting Early Access on Steam this time! After missing the original April 26 launch date, Reburn has relaunched their ambitious sci-fi FPS, hoping to gather community input to shape the final product.
What went wrong before?
Last month, the promised release of La Quimera didn’t happen. Instead, Reburn issued a brief apology via Discord without much detail. Speculation suggested the “version 1.0” review code fell short, both in content and performance. To add to the rough start, a mid-April closed beta was abruptly cancelled just a day after starting, following reports of technical issues and mixed community reactions.

Reburn’s fresh approach
Now, Reburn has shifted gears and returned with a clearer plan. According to the updated Steam page, La Quimera is available in Early Access, with an estimated development period of up to 18 months. The goal is to gather feedback and gradually shape the game into a polished final release.
The Early Access version includes the first four levels, which offer around five hours of story-driven gameplay. It’s designed to showcase the core experience, featuring integrated narrative and gameplay elements. While the build is stable and fully playable, Reburn acknowledges that bugs and balancing issues may still crop up.

What makes La Quimera worth playing now?
La Quimera thrusts players into Nuevo Caracas, a sprawling Latin American megalopolis. You’ll don an exosuit and wield futuristic weaponry to tackle intense battles, all while exploring a world crafted by Nicolas Winding Refn and E.J.A. Warren. The game’s lore and atmospheric storytelling aim to immerse players in a gritty, dystopian future.
Reburn’s team made it clear that they are actively looking for feedback, stating, “This Early Access release marks a major step for our team… Your feedback will help us shape the rest of the journey: more missions, stronger narrative integration, refined combat, and deeper co-op play.”

How to get involved
If you’re keen to dive in and help shape the final release, La Quimera is now available on Steam in Early Access for £23.99 ($29.99). By participating, you’ll experience the game’s early stages and contribute to its ongoing development.
Reburn is determined to get it right this time. Early Access is a big step forward, allowing them to iron out issues while keeping the community involved. If you’re up for some sci-fi action and want to be part of the game’s evolution, this might be the perfect time to jump in.
