Knock on the Coffin Lid, the mysterious roguelike deckbuilder from Redboon, is finally making its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox consoles this May, and it’s coming fully loaded.

Knock on the Coffin Lid console announcement trailer

Knock on the Coffin Lid originally launched on Steam in Early Access back in 2020, the game saw a full PC release in August 2024. Now, console players are getting the Complete Edition, which bundles the base game with the huge Nightmares of Millenis expansion. The whole thing is priced at £28 (around $34.99), offering a hefty chunk of gameplay—over 100 hours, according to the devs.

This one’s not your typical card battler. Knock on the Coffin Lid mixes deckbuilding strategy with a “whodunnit” mystery set in a moody fantasy world. You wake up dead (yeah, that’s a thing here), and it’s up to you to figure out who killed you, while also navigating the politics of a land on the brink of chaos.

Along the way, you’ll build a deck to summon allies, sling spells, and block incoming attacks. The battlefield changes constantly, so you’ll need to stay flexible. There are more than 200 items to collect—enchanted swords, cursed gear, ancient relics—and each one brings new passive and active effects to mess with your build in interesting ways.

The Nightmares of Millenis DLC nearly doubles the game’s size and adds a ton of content. You’ll explore entirely new regions, face deadlier enemies, and use Tarot cards to change the flow of battle in smart, strategic ways. The expansion also lets you revisit key decisions from earlier runs, so your choices truly matter.

If you missed it on PC or you’re just more of a console person, Knock on the Coffin Lid: Complete Edition could be worth a look. It’s a gritty, thoughtful experience with just the right amount of randomness, and now it’s finally ready for the couch crowd.
