ProbablyMonsters has announced Ire: A Prologue, a first-person narrative horror game set in a deadly loop. It’s launching on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 28.
This is a love letter to old-school horror. Think 80s and 90s vibes, tight ship corridors, and a monster that never stops hunting.
You’ll be playing as Emily, a teenager searching for her missing father. The trail leads to a haunted ship trapped in the Bermuda Triangle. But this ship has thirteen doors. And behind them are the answers or something worse.

Survive the loop, or get caught in it
Every time you fail, the loop resets. But each run reveals new clues. Emily must search for journals, cassettes, and items to uncover the ship’s dark secrets. The scarier part is that the monster listens, and it adapts. You’ll need to stay hidden, slip into vents, and use the environment to distract it. The smarter you play, the smarter it becomes.
It’s not just another horror game. Ire: A Prologue is setting up a larger narrative. This is the start of a full-blown Ire franchise. Emily’s journey will kick off events that will spiral into a much bigger story.

Built for tension
The game is made in Unreal Engine 5. Expect dense atmospheres, eerie soundscapes, and the kind of tension that’ll keep you on edge. If you loved survival horror where every move counts, this one’s for you.
