ICARUS is finally coming to consoles. The PvE sci-fi survival game launches on PS5 and Xbox on February 26, 2026.
The console edition is being published by GRIP Studios, with development led by Rocketwerkz, the studio founded by DayZ creator Dean Hall. This release was first confirmed back in October 2025, with a Q1 2026 window. Now, the date is locked in.

Console players will get more than just the base game. The package includes the New Frontiers expansion and the Pet Companion Pack. That means eleven extra animals to look after. There are three cats, five dogs, and three horses. Each pet has its own progression, talent tree, and survival needs.

This launch comes five years after ICARUS first arrived on PC in 2021. The early version struggled, but things have changed. Over the years, Rocketwerkz has delivered steady updates and improvements. That effort has paid off with a loyal player base.
With New Frontiers, players can explore Prometheus. This massive alien region spans 128km² of dangerous land to survive and tame.
One thing to keep in mind. There is no crossplay. Not between PC and console. Not even between PS5 and Xbox. Everyone needs to be on the same platform.

Crossplay could happen later, but nothing is promised. The same goes for a possible Nintendo Switch 2 version. For now, the focus is firmly on PS5 and Xbox.
