Heart Machine has exciting news for fans of Hyper Light Drifter! The studio announced that Hyper Light Breaker, the 3D follow-up to their hit game, will launch in Early Access on Steam on 14 January 2025. This announcement was made during the Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition, alongside a new trailer revealing the date.
During the Early Access period, the game will cost $29.99, though this price may change as new content is added and updates are made.
About Hyper Light Breaker
Hyper Light Breaker is a co-op open-world roguelike set in the same universe as Hyper Light Drifter. Players step into the shoes of “Breakers,” skilled warriors tasked with restoring a civilisation torn apart by a catastrophic war. The game features a procedurally generated world called the Overgrowth, which evolves with every playthrough.
Although the game is set in the Hyper Light universe, it takes place decades before the events of Hyper Light Drifter. Importantly, you don’t need to have played the first game to enjoy this one, as it offers a completely standalone story.
Ever-changing worlds
Hyper Light Breaker lets players explore a vast, dynamic world filled with large open biomes and intricate labyrinths.
