Helegaly has officially announced the release date of its much-awaited Action Pi retro gaming handheld, and it’s coming very soon. The device will launch on July 5, 2025, with a highly attractive price of just $59.99 for the base version that includes a 64 GB microSD card.
For users who want even more space, an upgrade to a 128 GB microSD is available for only $5 more, taking the total to $64.99. Pre-orders are now live on Helegaly’s official website, and fans can also sign up for email notifications. A limited-edition Indigo “GameCube” variant is also planned for release later this summer.

Designed with affordability and performance in mind, the Action Pi packs impressive specs into its sleek, pocket-sized shell. It runs on the Allwinner A527 chipset, which includes eight Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked up to 2 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 MC1-2EE GPU, ensuring smooth performance across a wide range of classic games. The handheld is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of onboard eMMC storage, with the included microSD card used to store games and emulators.
Powering everything is Batocera, a Linux-based retro gaming operating system well-known for its flexibility and ease of use. It supports emulation for more than 20 classic platforms, including everything from 8-bit favourites to PlayStation Portable and even Sega Dreamcast titles.
The handheld’s 4.02-inch IPS screen offers a crisp and vibrant 960 × 720 resolution, making retro games look better than ever. Battery life is handled by a large 5,000 mAh cell, providing hours of uninterrupted gaming without the need for constant recharging.

Helegaly Action Pi handheld connectivity
Connectivity is also a strong point. The Action Pi includes two USB-C ports, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a mini-HDMI out for big-screen gaming, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and a microSD slot. Whether you’re playing on the go or on the couch, the options are all there.
To enhance the gaming experience further, the handheld is fitted with Hall-effect analogue sticks and a responsive D-pad, ensuring accurate input and reducing the risk of stick drift—a common issue in many handheld devices. The layout has been carefully designed for comfort during long play sessions.
With its powerful specs, high-quality screen, wide emulation support, and affordable price, the Action Pi is shaping up to be a must-have device for retro gaming fans this summer. Don’t miss out—pre-orders are open now, and the official launch is just around the corner.
