It’s that time of year again when we start to see Halloween-themed content. As always, I’m here for it! Halo Infinite and Halloween (Haloween) may not seem like the most usual bedfellows, but there’s been seasonal content for years. Happy Halo-ween!
We haven’t updated the world on the latest Halo Infinite operations in a little while, not because we don’t care, just because we’re all over trying to get ready to talk 2024’s game of the year, and there’s a lot to play. So here we are making up for it a little, with the Haloween update.
Of course, having some free stuff on the new pass to play for is a nice bonus. I’ll be honest and say I think Halo Infinite has really hit its stride as a live-service game now. There’s room to improve, but the regular updates and content really help keep it alive.
Haloween 2024
The highly anticipated Halloween event, dubbed the “Halo-ween Operation,” has arrived, bringing a plethora of new content and rewards to the game. The centrepiece of this update is the all-new game mode, Survive the Undead.
We all love hoarde mode, and this adds a spooky twist to the mode in Halo Infinite.
Inspired by the popular Call of Duty Zombies mode, Survive the Undead throws players into a challenging battle against hordes of infected enemies (we love the Flood, right?!). With limited resources and ever-increasing difficulty, teamwork and strategy will be crucial to survive the onslaught.
This is Haloween content here. Fight to survive against the odds. Plus, it’s Halo so it always feels great and you have the usual array of weapons to dig into.
Haloween operation pass and rewards
The Haloween Operation also introduces a free Operation Pass, offering players a chance to earn a range of exciting rewards. The highlight of the pass is the Spartanstein armour set, a unique and spooky cosmetic that will make you the envy of your fellow Spartans.
As always, players can purchase a premium Operation Pass for even more exclusive rewards.
The Spartanstein set isn’t the best out there, but you have to love a freebie, and I’m sure its got some fans out there. I’m going for it!! Happy Haloween indeed.
Exchange refresh and new customisation items
The in-game Exchange has been refreshed with a variety of new customization items, including weapon skins, armour coatings, and emblems, all themed around the Halloween season. These items can be purchased using in-game currency or real money.
The pricing is still quite steep if you ask me, but there’s definitely some cool stuff in there. It’s not always worth it, but hey Halo Infinite is free-to-play and they have to keep the lights on somehow.
Additional updates and changes
In addition to the major additions, the Haloween Operation also includes a number of smaller updates and changes. These include bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, and improvements to the overall player experience.
Happy Halloween and Haloween!
There’s going to be some more Halloween content for other games and you can bet your bottom dollar I’m going to share the joy.
First is Halo and this Haloween event. Are you going to dive in and get spooky, Spartan-style?
I’ve not played for a few months, so the prospect of a new free pass is a great lead back into it. I know Halo Infinite isn’t going to go down as a series highlight, but I think from a multiplayer perspective it’s in great shape.
I’m writing a piece about those games that you always go back to and find comfort in, where you can just zone out and always know you’ll get something from it. Halo Infinite multiplayer totally fits that bill. Sometimes I need to be brought back in, so the Haloween gimmick is perfectly timed, I think.
