Here I go again…….Halo Infinite has just dropped a new update called Operation Fleetcom. It brings a slew of new content to the game. This includes new game modes, a new Operation Pass, sandbox updates, and even some new features for Forge.

For crying out loud, every time I drop off, there’s something in the next Halo Infinite update that brings me back in. I’m a lifelong Halo fan, and actually really only Infinite. But I’d done enough season passes etc, I was taking a break.

Have you seen the Haunted Helmet?! I need it.

Fun fact: Originally available in Halo: Reach upon accumulating 20,000,000 cR to hit the rank of Inheritor, the Haunted helmet is now available in Halo Infinite where you will be able to grab it for 75,000 Spartan Points.

Let’s dive into the details. First up, we have two new game modes: VIP and Headhunter. VIP mode is a classic objective-based game mode where one team must protect a designated VIP while the other team tries to take them down. Headhunter, on the other hand, is a faster-paced team deathmatch where points are earned for eliminating enemy players.

The new Operation Pass gives players a chance to unlock the Operator armour, which was originally introduced in Halo: Reach. The pass also includes a variety of other cosmetic items, such as weapon skins and coatings.

The sandbox update includes several changes to weapons, grenades, and vehicles. For example, the Assault Rifle has been slightly nerfed, while the Plasma Pistol has been buffed. Grenades have also seen some changes, with the frag grenade now having a shorter fuse time. Vehicles have also been tweaked, with some vehicles now being more susceptible to damage.

Sandbox Updates

  • Ravager: This new weapon has been significantly buffed, making it a more powerful option for players.
  • Disruptor: This new weapon now has a damage-over-time effect, making it more effective against shielded enemies.
  • Skewer: This new weapon has a faster reload speed, making it more effective in combat.
  • Assault Rifle: This weapon has been slightly nerfed, making it less powerful.
  • Plasma Pistol: This weapon has been buffed, making it more effective against shielded enemies.
  • Frag Grenade: This grenade now has a shorter fuse time, making it more difficult to dodge.
  • Banshee: This vehicle now has increased health, making it more durable.
  • Ghost: This vehicle now has faster movement, making it more agile.

Halo Infinite – Forge

Finally, the update adds some new features to Forge.

Forge is a powerful tool that allows players to create their own custom maps and game modes. The new update adds the ability to add music and nav markers to Forge maps, which should give players even more creative freedom.

I’ll be honest, when they first released Forge in Halo 3, I was blown away. Seeing the creations of others is always astounding. I’ve always always wanted to be good at this stuff, but it’s not something I can properly engage with, or have the time for.

The toolset in Halo Infinite is amazing, and seeing how it’s progressed over the years has blown me away.

You should absolutely check out maps and game modes made by others out there in Halo Infinite.

See how we go

Operation Fleetcom feels significant, and I’m really happy to see the Operator gear back. For a studio seemingly always in some kind of tumultuous situation, they sure keep knocking these out of the park!

I’m dying for the campaign to go on sale again so I can buy it in Steam and finally finish it. What a fan, eh? Still have not finished the campaign….

There’s some discussion we need to have about the state of Gamepass after Microsoft has announced the new tiers. I wonder how games like Halo Infinite will be impacted longer term. I’ve cancelled my sub now, preferring to buy just the games I want in Steam, on sale.

Will Gamepass fall over itself or continue to be fine?
